What a lucky girl I am!

Surprise I am finally back!  Whew, it has been a whirlwind the past year and a half.  No need to bore you with all the details.  So let's get down to why I am so lucky...

I can finally mention this lovely book!!!  It has been a long time coming.  I had the honor of helping Jennifer Paganelli of Sis Boom write, illustrate and create the patterns for this beauty.  Jennifer is such an inspiring person and I was so honored that we got to work together.  We have never met face to face, and were put into contact with each other via Chronicle Books (they must have known), how great we would get along.  The book is available for pre-order and will be released at the end of April.

Some recent thrifting finds

Not a whole lot of crafting going on, but I have found some fun things recently while thrifting.  

I had not heard of this girl detective series before and the book title "The Clue in the Patchwork Quilt" was what caught my eye.  So I bought both of them and looked up Margaret Sutton when I got home and was pleasantly surprised with my finds.  The fabric the books are on was also found at the same store, it is two drapery panels that are in great condition.  I will probably take them apart and use the fabric for something else.  

Such a fun book, I only found Volume 3 of four and will have to look out for the others.

I love this find... this is the inside cover of "The Complete Book of Home Modernizing", published in 1953.  There are so many great pictures and drawings in this book, I have just leafed through it and took a couple of pictures of what this treasure has to offer.

And I have to leave you with two pictures of our dogs on Halloween.  I know, you are probably sick of dog pictures already, but I couldn't help myself.

The hats didn't last long on either of the dogs, we were hoping they would wear them for the tricker treaters, but no go.
