I haven't mentioned needlepoint much before, because I tend to do my crafting in waves, one month is all knitting and the next month is crocheting. As you can see from my logo at the top of my blog, I do love needlepoint too. It was one of the first needle crafts that I learned as a little girl, so it holds a special place in my heart.
Last weekend I happened upon 3 little needlepoint pieces at a local thrift store and couldn't pass them up.
So, I am still not sure what I am going to do with these yet. Maybe incorporate them into pillows or bags, but I wanted to give them a home. I have a hard time passing up needlework in thrift stores, because I know how long it takes to do, and almost always feel compelled to bring them home with me. I also end up bringing home a lot of old needlework kits (I guess I just bring home a lot of crapola), this one I bought in Modesto for the grand total of 10 cents! I stitched it up over the weekend and here is the finished product.
Not my first choice of subject matter, but it was a quick fun little project. And just to prove my needlepoint love here I am at 5 years old with my needlepoint.
Love the outfit!
that is such a great picture!
and what lovely finds- so perfect and not twee at all. I'm sure you'll do something really neat with them.

Do you know that I have never seen any childhood pictures of you???? So adorable!
And excellent finds and crafty craft, as usual!

Thanks Nancy and Karen! Not many people have seen childhood pictures of me. I think this is one of the few that even Matthew has seen.
